"I had been been concerned about my husband Ben's behaviour for a while so when he was diagnosed with vascular dementia, it was not a shock to me. What was a surprise was despite my not spelling it out to our friends (as I didn't wish to have Ben 'labelled'), the lack of understanding and tolerance of him. You certainly find out who your friends are.

We were put in touch with Dementia Concern by the consultant at Sycamore Lodge and I bless the day we found you.

The Social Club especially has been a lifesaver for both of us. It enables me to have some respite in the knowledge that Ben is in a safe and happy environment, also knowing that he is treated with respect and affection. He really looks forward to a Thursday and comes home happy and relaxed.

We are both blessed to have this facility and cannot thank the team enough, they do a brilliant job. "
