How can I get involved?

We have a team of volunteers who provide invaluable support to help us achieve our aims. They help with fundraising, assist in the office, help out at social events and facilitate the former carers’ support group.

Each volunteer role needs different qualities and skills and our staff will help you decide on a role where you feel useful and happy.

‘I really look forward to coming to the ‘Dementia Cafe’ and helping out. Everyone really enjoys themselves and the food, speakers, raffle and entertainment is great’.

What happens after I apply?

  • When we receive your application form we will contact you to invite you to come and talk about volunteering with us.
  • If you decide to go ahead with your application we take up two references and do a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.
  • You will have an induction into the organisation.
  • A month’s trial period give you the opportunity to ‘try out’ the volunteering role and see if it’s for you.
