Over the next few weeks, we'll be introducing the amazing team of runners taking on the 2024 London Marathon for Dementia Concern

Here's Emily!

Emily's Story

I'm Emily, I am 25 years old and this year I am running the London Marathon for Dementia Concern.

Running a marathon is always something I've wanted to do but I never thought I'd push myself out of my comfort zone to do it! But in 2023 I just decided to go for it.

From the very start I knew I wanted to raise money for a dementia charity and I am extremely proud to be part of the Dementia Concern Team 2024!

My 90-year-old nan suffers with dementia and has been dealing with the effects of dementia for around two years now. Witnessing the effects of dementia has made me passionate about supporting charities that help those affected by dementia.

I want to use this event to encourage people to donate and support the amazing work that dementia charities do. My personal experiences with my nan and my desire to make a difference in the lives of those affected with dementia are the driving forces behind my decision to take part in the London Marathon for Dementia Concern.
